I went there earlier but no link to actual download (as its optional) to update. if its in the normal Rust update its not really an optional one but an automatic one.

optional update means that it doesn't matter if server is updated and if client is updated - you still can join. So if you update your server, your players dont have to update their games and they still can join. Same is opposide, if they update their game and you didn't update your server, they still can join normally.

Mandatory updates make your server not showing up on server lists until you update it. And why would they add a download link? It gets downloaded via steam :P
