Configuring groups to prevent managing lower groups?Solved
Is there any to set up permissions so that a lower user group cannot target a group above it. For example with adding users to groups.

Say my group structure is the following (Chat Mod being the lowest and Owner being the highest):
  1. Owner
  2. Manager
  3. Admin
  4. Mod
  5. Chat Mod
Would there be a way to make it so Manager could add people to Admin and below but cannot add anyone to Manager or Owner?

I would attempt to hard code it but I want everything to be dynamic. So any help would be appreciated.
God Mode by Wulf?

  • You want the Owner to be able to damage everyone, the 'Manager' can also raid/damage everyone below it, the actual 'Admin' can damage the Moderators, cuz... Of course, that's a thing that happens... The 'chat mod' is a normal dude who plays and can't hurt admins.
  • First: Focus on why your OWNER, 'Managers', 'Admins', and 'mods' need to fight each other at all. You're not even supposed to play like that on your own server? I guess you do you, but don't post a "How to get pop?" thread in the future.
  • What do you mean 'target'? If you're talking strictly Permissions; I do not know of a way that anyone other than auth level 2 can change oxide group permissions. Check out these resources, and GL:

https://umod.org/documentation/plugins/permissions

If you read the post a little better, you would understand exactly what I was asking. Instead of being a dick straight up get your head out your ass and read the title "Questioon about the PERMISSION SYSTEM".

This won't be possible with the build in Permission system in Oxide, this is however possible with a custom plugin.

Okay I thought as much but just making sure I didn't miss anything in the documentation. Thanks for the help.

You are the one "being a dick" here. He did nothing more than spend his own time and effort in an attempt to help you. You are not entitled to help, and comments like that will ensure that people won't want to help you in the future. How many times have YOU helped anyone on here, let's see.... oh what a surprise, ZERO.

Once actually...

The jist or ur message was "how to have a group hierarchy that can grant permissions only downwards", but ur first part 'target' threw me off.

Often times we (me) only retain the first part of long posts. That's my bad. I didn't think I was bein' mean, but since I didn't really reply to the question correctly. I'm sorry.

Don't apologise to him, he's a scumbag. He comes begging for free help and insults people who give it to him. He deserves to be insta-banned for behaviour like that imo.
Come on boys, it was a misunderstanding from both sides. There are more people here that ask for support than that offer it and that's fine, iamcj joined the site 3 days ago so can't expect him to have offered support to many people yet. If you're only here to stir up more drama you're likely to get banned @JimDeadlock
