I think a simple solution to this might be for the developer to add a "Time Scale" setting which we could set to automatically scale all weather events. So default would be 1.0.... 2.0 would scale all the plug-in's events by 2X.... 0.5 would be 0.5X. And so on

yes, very good idea, this make it more realistic :)
without ure idea the weather is coming to fast and go to fast ...
Either way I do believe we need a config added for this plugin to add in some of the previously requested customizations. Like enabling/disabling the plugin's effects on lighting and contrast. Still think the time scaling idea would be awesome too! And other stuff you might think of or has been requested. Give it some consideration. Either way your work is very appreciated :)
Edit - Also I'd suggest toning down the plugin's effects on brightness and contrast overall. It gives the landscape a very "alien" look sometimes. Check out what heavy fog does when all its settings are at their peak ;)

what u think, how long must be the maintime for more realistic ? 2x, 3x, ... ? i try to recode the plugin ...
Is there a quick way to do mass edits to CS files? I've been using Notepad++ and while I have found a way to speed up the process.... wish I could just change all variables to a single command in all parts of the CS at once.deano79i have been wanting to do some work on this, but just too busy recently irl. if you want to have a crack, feel free. pm me a link to the update and i will post it.

I am going to fix that a bit however 3 or 4 times longer might be a bit excessive for most players. Rust players seem to not enjoy bad weather lasting longer than around 45 real life minutes. But I will be investigating adding a time scaling option down the road, not even sure if it's possible yet. You'll definitely see longer weather being added soon though
the name of the plugin is RealisticWeather and 3x or 4x longer time is realistic :)

I understand, and partially agree. But you also have to consider the viability of... how long can the weather last and still be diverse enough every day? Let's say I make the weather events last 3 hours each on average. This means only 8 maximum possible weather types a day. Then figure on the majority of the days there's going to be at least a couple repeating weather types because of the nature of the RNG random. You might get full real life days without any rain, or days of all good weather, or days of all bad weather. Yes that's realistic but the time needs to be scaled a decent bit shorter than real life to keep the variety. Also with the new weather Rust system, there is in-game mechanics effected by it such as water collection. Imagine not being able to collect water for an entire real life day just because you don't live near a water source.
No worries my friend, you will see longer weather.... but it's going to have to be a bit of a compromise from what you and I both would consider "realistic"

its only an idea from me, maybe the plugin needs only a setting, how long serverowner wants the maintime ... its difficult to explain for me in english, iam german
