I am getting this error with the update, no permisions are shown in the admin menu either.
"Timed out waiting for plugin to be compiled: Vanish"

That isn't really a plugin issue, rather a compiler issue. If it doesn't work, you may need to kill the Compiler process and/or restart the server.
