It worked perfectly locally, tried on a dedicated machine Windows Server 2019, and got "No templates found matching: 'umod-unity-windows-launcher'"? Am I missing some requirements?

You can skip that step for now and use the .bat that came with the game.

Get this now on fresh server.

Thanks for the report! We're currently looking into why that may show for some.

No worries, I have more errors spitting out further down, more than happy to give access to this machine or any logs you may require to help resolve it.

Sorry for the double post bu I also don't get this on my local machine (Windows 10), the error is on Windows Server 2019.

Getting the same issue in Linux.
This is a dedicated server I'm self-hosting in linux via steamcmd

Unable to create a umod launcher for a linux valheim server
Couldn't find an installed template that matches the input, searching online for one that does..

If I'm unable to create and use a uMod launcher guessing I can't use the max player plugin since the oxide folder is created upon launching with uMod?

Yeah we still stuck on this, we have umod ready to go on all our servers now, just none of it works due to this error.

You can skip this step, it merely creates a .sh or .bat file for starting your server.

Is uMod and Oxide the same thing?
I'm not finding any Oxide directory or able to run any Oxide commands.
Only documentation I could find about installing Oxide directs to the instructions for installing uMod for Valheim which I completed.
If I'm unable to use the uMod launch command can I still use plugins when running the server via start_server.sh?

No, the are different projects. uMod is not released, which is why the majority of the information here is for Oxide as that is the current project that has releases. You can find more info on uMod at https://umod.org/guides though.

So any updates? I think I have the same thing. How do I know to edit files with umod?

Yes, if uMod is installed on the server the provided launchers are not required.

The uMod documentation that Wulf linked covers the majority of the relevant subjects on how to use uMod. I'm not sure what updates you are referring to.

everytime i try to make a new launcher i get this error:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim dedicated server>umod new launcher -P
Couldn't find an installed template that matches the input, searching online for one that does...
No templates found matching: 'umod-unity-windows-launcher'.
To list installed templates, run 'dotnet new --list'.

I don't know what im doing wrong, please help!

When did you first install the agent, and which version of Windows are you using?

You can skip that step for now either way and use the .bat that comes with the server.
