This will change how pipes are upgraded and will allow for more control over what it needed to upgrade a pipe.
Here is how it might look

I wasn't sure if there should be an initial construction cost to the pipes (which are currently free to build only cost to upgrade). Although that could be configurable. Currently pipes can be any length (it's only limited by the config).Deansaur1991Am I right in thinking this would allow for infinite length providing you have the correct amount of resources?
NP! Honestly it is a very useful tool, especially for PVE/Creative and RP .
I think the barrels would be super helpful, especiallly if they can split and merge or even just split. For example in the build here ( this is one floor of three ) there is a lot of boxes. Pipes however would be so much more efficient for furnaces too! ( https://ibb.co/2yGYXCg )
Some extra ideas ( not sure if it is possible) would be to have the pipes work with fish farms it would be awesome as an auto farm feature.
Also if you could move more than one stack at a time. I.e set a limit to how many items at once move. So lets say you had a setup for a furnace, being able to pipe the sulfur and wood to one furnace and metal and ore to the other would say on the amount of deployables needed/boxes etc which would be great for reducing lag on big builds. Again not sure if this is actually possible as I am not a programmer/coder myself. More so looking at it from a user point of view with efficiency in mind :)

At the moment the pipes will move as many of one item type as the pipe will allow each time (it will combine the stacks of the same item). I think to try and move multiple item types each time might increase the lag on the server as it would have to double or tripple (etc.) calculate the items each time (although I think it might be possible).
What I am thinking its trying to create a mode where you could have an on demand pipe. This would allow furnaces to pull in fuel as reuired by whatever was smelting and shut down when it was complete. This would however mean having an extra container to store the fuel but branching pipes should limit the number of extra containers required.

I'm leaning towards using only the blue barrels as I can use the triangular sign on them to indicate direction.
The other thing I have found with this is that it is possible to branch pipes, which I think would save a lot of containers needing to be placed.
This is all very much proof of concept at the moment an just playing with what is possible.
I really like the blue barrel with the indicator. It would be so helpful for troubleshooting if anything goes wrong in my build. I will add though that having each of the barrels could be good indicaors of quality. i.e Cream rusty barrel is wood, blue is stone, red is metal and black barrel being HQM. COuld be also useful to keep as indicators of which pipes are faster etc. But if you have no cost attached to them, then having blue with the indicator would be best, and personally I would prefer that :)
BTW if you are wondering what an entire fulfilment centre in rust looks like with your plugin, hit me up and I can give you a tour on fortify. It's going to be a monstrous build next wipe lol
That's not possible due to Rust logic how they works.Minty3928
Some smaller pipes would be good, Maybe something which can be moved and mounted around like the water hose and electric cable.
I just spotted this plugin, I've been using JPipes for a long time but I'll be switching to this next wipe. Awesome work and the best documenation I've seen on umod.
I wish FP hadn't taken out the pillar prefab, but what's done is done. However if you can use barrels as the pipe, would it be possible to use the spear prefab and make it slightly larger? Or make the barrels slightly smaller? I realise I might be asking for something quite difficult or possibly cause lag, but it would be great if it were possible.
Thanks for doing all this work @Joe90. :-)
Would you be adding barrels in as an option or making them default, if you know what I mean? Ideally if you've got low walls working fine and looking good, then being able to toggle barrels on instead would be amazing. I'm sat here thinking that barrels might be too fat and get in the way when creating something more complex. Thanks again. :-)
Currently in my development version I have an experimental flag which switches barrel mode on. This may change into a useBarrels flag later on, I haven't really decided yet.
please decide soon :) looking forward to this update <3
I'm getting there :P
Unfortunately real life has got in the way. I'm still developing it but don't have as much time to devote to it as I did before.
