Plugins and Community listSolved
hi sorry if this sounds silly plz be patient thanks. Ive been running a rust server thru gameservers.com for last 6 months pretty much a community vanilla server but wife is pregnant so i cant admin the server as much as i have been so i wanted to install a few admin mod tools to help ie vanish and rules im a little stuck with it all. i understand how to use ftp to add a plugin and edit files im sure although ive never done it but a few questions i have with it all

1. if i install oxide 2 from my gameserver mod section can i still install these plugins or do i need to wait till gameservers has a umod install option?

2. i want to still be listed in the community section and not modded section of rust after install thats if i even can install these mods since oxide is closed from wot ive read facepunch allow mods to help with admining only to not be blacklisted and there is a way to change dll files to list server back in community section.

im sure ill have some other questions but thanks in advance to any help info cheers

Currently all plugins here still use Oxide. We're transitioning still to the uMod name, nothing is using that yet.

For the Community section in Rust, Facepunch allows "admin tools" only, which means nothing normal players can use, no visual changes, and no changes to game mechanics. Violating this could put your server at risk of being blacklisted should Facepunch choose to do so.
tyvm wulf for quick reply so i just install oxide 2 and download plugin from umod and install the same way or would i need to still doenload from oxide site? alsi i would only be installing approved admin mods i just cant find any info on how to move it from mod section to community once i do install oxide 2. can i do that or would i have to ask gameservers to do it or even contact facepuch ?

You can download and install Oxide as you normally would. You can change to the Community section by setting Modded to false in the oxide.config.json file.
cool ill try install it tonight and tyvm for help and info appreciated

None of those would be allowed under Community per Facepunch.
im sure i seen vanish and rules are accepted the others just help admin the server rules aswel nothing that effects the game tho

Anything that visually changes the game would not be allowed. They have stated that they only allow "admin tools", nothing for players and nothing that visually or mechanically alters the game to appear other than "vanilla".

Basically anything that makes the game look or feel modded isn't allowed.
i wouldnt dare question ur help advice, my server is max groups of 4 hence the door limter and cupboard auth to enforce that rule. raid tracker to again protect rules from raiders breaking rules.
ive been admining over 300 hrs per month to ensure players are welcomed supported and rules are followed etc. as i cant commit to those hrs atm i thought these plugins would help and be ok. if im in breach of breaking rules obv ill remove them ive worked too hard to build a player base and would hate to be blacklisted.
if i must add these for irl situ id need to just leave the server in modded section tho. could you recommed any plugins accepted by facepunch which allows my server to be listed in community section ?
ive also installed javascript Dependencies, python Dependencies and csharp compliler temp fix from my gameserver pannel to see if it fixed the server offline but it is still currently not online :(

None of those are related to your server being online or not, if anything, they'd only make it worse as we don't support any of those things.
cool ill uninstall those rn i thought maybe they were there to fix issue

If your server just doesn't show on the list but you can connect via F1, that isn't related to Oxide. If your server isn't starting, check your server logs for errors.
no cant connect via f1 ip dont exist atm and never really had any issues or downtime could u be more specific to which logs in ftp am i looking for exactly?
