Hello, I can't see it in the server list.
Firewall, etc. are disabled, but the server is not displayed.
Manual favorites are displayed in the server list, but you can access them.
However, it does not appear in the server list.
What should the hosting side do?
Can’t find my server in the list
I have a similar problem.
My server has been around for more than two years. A few days ago, the server stopped showing up in the list of servers (modded). It is not visible to me and other players. In the favorites and history it is visible. Players can connect using the console or through favorites. I haven't changed any settings lately.
After discovering the problem, I performed several actions, but they did not help:
- restarting the rust server process;
- updating and validating the rust server files;
- restarting the virtual server where the rust server is located;
- restarting the physical server where the virtual server is located;
- disabling ipv6;
- increasing the server.ipqueriespermin parameter from 30 to 400;
- cleaning of Steam directories: appcache, config, logs, userdata;
In the list of banned my ip is not listed. Checked here: https://api.facepunch.com/api/public/manifest/?public_key=j0VF6sNnzn9rwt9qTZtI02zTYK8PRdN1
TCP and UDP ports open: 28015 and 28016
OS: Debian
Rust server installed with lgsm.
Also UMod is installed on the server.
I wrote to Facepunch support. Let's see what they have to say.
Answer from support (less than 2 hours):
We've already alerted Valve about the issue as it appears to be a limitation on their end with how many servers are allowed to show up in the list globally.
The server list is user independent, it won't respond or behave the same for everyone. That list isn't being populated from a central server contrary to popular belief. It's being seeded by a central server, but the population of it is entirely dependent on the server(s) server being connectable and responding to source engine A2S queries.
The basic flow is:
1. Rust client asks Steam for all Rust servers
2. Rust client sends source engine A2S queries asking for basic server info from all the servers given by #1
3. As the servers reply to the A2S queries in #2, they appear in the browser.
So If the server isn't well positioned geographically (to you), is suffering from a DDOS attack, or your own internet has packet loss/hiccups, it may appear slow, but for someone else may appear super fast.
SteamServer initialized
Server startup complete
SteamServer Connected
Appears, but it is not displayed in the server list.
My IP is *.*.*.*, but it is not even added to the blacklist. Should I contact Face Punch?
Disabling ipv6 solved my problem.
Currently, I found a problem.
Problem:
The IP band is on the U.S. side, so the U.S. player can see the list of servers.
On the Korean side, there was a problem that did not appear on the list of servers.
Is this a steam problem?
I wonder if there is a solution.
For some reason, i cant find my server either.
Its not installed with LGSM but with "Pterodactyl", a Web tool for installing game servers.
I can access the Server and others probably found the server through just-wiped or rust-servers. Buts i cant list the Server in the Server browser.
The server is located in Frankfurt (Germany) and im also in Germany, so its probably not a GEO issue on my side..
Alright, the problem is FacePunch / Steam master server list management. Some servers are not showing up. Right now, only the most popular servers will show up on Modded.
Here was the answer:
Dear Marcus,
Apologies for any inconvenience. I believe I understand why this is happening. Your server will list on the server browser, simply put, the server browser can only display 10000 servers. Prior to December of 2020, there were roughly 9000 servers. This wasn't a problem, as most players want to play on a server close to them. It actually worked out well for the game.
Now, within the last month, server sales have tripled or even quadrupled. Facepunch reported over 20,000 servers, however now I suspect it's closer to 40. Now, you pretty much only see servers within the largest metroplex closest to you. We expect this to be resolved by face punch within the next patch, however, this may be a steam problem and nothing may be done about it.
In the meantime, make sure you've set your hostname properly within your command line settings in TCAdmin. If you've done this, and you can connect to your server via IP, your server should be listed on the server browser for the people closest to it.
Kind regards,
Austin
For those who have linux you can try this tutorial, quite simple and rust server available with also if you want a pretty nice site Tutorial site : https://pastebin.com/f9KAUh3X OGP GAME PANEL site : https://www.opengamepanel.org
I moved the virtual machine to another server in the same data center (with a different IP). The server appeared in the search process.
It is very likely that the old ip is banned, but not listed as banned by facepunch.
Hi, so regarding my issue, I've had an IP change, made a new vanilla server to see if it was that, I also completely disabled the firewall, yet my server still won't show on the server list, can anyone advise?
When I type client.connect "ip", it doesn't actually connect me to the server, it just times me out, but it adds the server to my history then when I go back onto the server list and go to history, when it appears there and I can join it without a problem.
This issue has been happening for 3 days, first I made sure that my ports we're allowed through the firewall (on a VPS), then the customer support of my provided advised that completely disabling firewall might fix it, it didn't, so I'm kind of stuck in a limbo now, I've tried just about every trick I know and still nothing, has anyone fixed this issue before and has any pointers?
Thank you for your time!
Teomit

Why would they just ban IPs without sending an email or notification? I will contact my host and see if they can move me to a new IP.
Experiencing same issue. Server is not listed in game. IP is not banned.
