Hi, what is the average entity count for a highly modded PvP server? My server is currently at 570.000 entities, x100 gather, map size 3800, wiped 12 and a half days ago. I am currently using 60 plugins.
that's huge. Do you restart nightly?
For a good while now a fresh 4K starts at around 30-40K. A week later with 15 pop 150K. This is with nightly restarts and I block mushrooms and chickens. 200K-300K is a lot, imo. I use 98 mods.
I try restarting every 24h unless there are a lot of people playing, I use AutoDecay to delete raided bases and anything not within TC range, gather rate for seeds only x1, my previous 5000 map was at almost 700k entities just before wipe.
what's ur pop?
Between 10 and 25, 35 was the highest.
Use https://umod.org/plugins/timed-execute to restart your server along with give automated restart warnings. I run restarts every 12hr. IMO players are going to be happy on a server as long as it isnt lagging and the server staff is active
I'm not having lag problems, I created this thread to have an idea of the average entity count for a highly modded PvP server. I do restart every day, not just the server instance but the whole machine.
570K ent.'s is imo a lot.
If you use GUIAnnouncement, it has an in-built server restarter that works great with good announcements and I would reccomend restarting at least once per 24 hours as you already do.
What OS are you running on your box ?
Let us know what you do (if anything) and what the results are.
I use AutoDecay set to 1 hour, my players take care of raiding and destroying the TC as I have a kit with 8 C4 and plenty of rockets with a 1 hour cooldown.
I'm running the server on Windows.
It's just my experience that people build giant RP like things that isn't raid juicy and with 100x it's easy to fill the TC with 2 weeks of upkeep.
Regarding OS, you don't really need to restart the box as running the server has no meddleing with OS, but if it makes you feel good.. ;o)
I would guess it's against the rules to throw a connect link in here, but could you give me the name or IP of the server ?
