Syncing/cloning permissions between groups?Solved

I know there's a way to do this, and when I find the commands on google I get confused about which direction they are going. As in which one is the master group and which one is the "copy"? And does the copy constantly copy the permissions of the master group or is it only at creation?

Like if I change the permissions of master group would the clone group also reflect that change?

So basically, what command would I type to create an oxide group that is a clone of a master group. Let's just call the groups "master" and "clone" for the sake of not confusing them lol

Any help is appreciated.

Why would you need to clone a group? Just set one as the parent to another if you want them to always have those permissions. The groups have whatever permissions you have assigned, that's it.
That's kind of what I mean.  So let's say I have Group1.  Can I set Group2 to just copy whatever Group1 permissions are (and if I make changes to group1 will group 2 reflect those changes)

And what is the command.  I mean I know the command but I can never figure out which group goes where.

Basically what I am doing is I have a 'rank' that wipes and then I have a version of that rank that does not wipe.  So each wipe I delete the group that wipes and then re-create it.  It is an exact copy of the one that does not wipe so I just go and re-assign all the permissions etc.

Would love to be able to delete the group, then re-create it as a child of the other one so it already has all the permissions.

Wish there was just a way to CLEAR a group of members instead of having to delete them
Thanks, yeah, I knew the command (from that page you just linked) I was just confused about which group went first in the command.  So your group1 group2 thing cleared it up for me.  The MASTER group goes first and the SUB group goes 2nd.

One last thing, if I change anything in the group1 permissions will the group2 update itself to constantly mirror it?
Yes, the group that parents the other doesn't actually have those permissions, it just inherits them from the parent.
