Cannot assign permissionsSolved
Hello. have you already been able to fix the plugin? I cannot assign any permissions. not even to the admin
Can you please elaborate on your issue? What have you done, what did you expect to happen, what happened?
Despite admin rights, i have no way to access it. it always happens that I don't have the rights to open the backpacks. but before that it went great. I used the command oxid.grant group default backpacks.use as normal. but can't do anything.
The oxide.grant command can only be used by admin, which you would see a reply for regardless of if you are admin or not. What are you seeing when you use oxide.grant group default backpacks.use?
there is no answer. that's what I meant. nothing happens. no idea why. as soon as I use ingame b I have no rights even though I tried to assign them
Where are you using the commands? If RCON, try in-game with ownerid set via Rust for your player.

What do you get when you type /o.grant user <admin name> backpacks.admin  ?
It should say <name> already has that permission .

the following is displayed: Player '? Silverridge (Steam.ID) 'granted permission' backpacks.admin '

If I press b the following is displayed: You don't have permission to use this command.

You should have got either "user or group <name>  already has <permission>"  as a response, so if you now have the admin permission  you can  use /o.grant group (user) <name> backpacks.use
and if there is no response when you press the b key you open the console (F1) and type
bind b backpack.open

I've already tried everything. i am the owner of the server and also registered as admin. all other plugins work. just not this plugin. the command to issue the authorization is not carried out. do you understand it now? since the update the plugin no longer works for me although i haven't changed anything.

Actually i cannot understand it , That is why i suggested following those steps even though you (might) have already done them, that way the people who are trying to help you can see the basics have been carried out,
I am having no problems with mine , its up to date and oxide/rust is up to date and sorry to say cant think of anything else it could be as you have said you are registered  on your server as the owner/admin.

exact order as i installed and executed it. 1. cs file uploaded 2. oxid.grant group default / admin backpacks.use executed in the console 3. bind b backpack.open 4. oxide.reload * 5. button b pressed. answer: you have no authorization. where is the error that it doesn't work for me? could another plugin be the reason?
The oxide.grant is just an oxide command. It should not be possible for other plugins, or even this plugin, to interfere with it.

You mentioned "2. oxid.grant group default" in your latest post which has a typo (not sure if that's what you actually entered in console though). Typing the command incorrectly will result in the behavior you described (i.e., no output in console).

1 upload plugin .cs
2 type /o.grant <username> backpacks.admin
3 type /o.grant group default backpacks.use    (as the admin)
as the default includes all players including the admin everyone gets it.
if you want to specify different size backpacks to different groups you can set the default in the config to 3 and grant larger ones to other groups by using the permission listed in the documentation,
hopefully the typo mentioned in the previous post @WhiteThunder  is the culprit and you can enjoy victory.

Thank you for your help. it was really due to a typo. how blind am I because I haven't seen this. as long as I'm already doing it. lol. now I would like to expand the whole thing with the easyvote, which automatically frees up more places with the vote. do any of you know how to do that?
