so, you can't have a train longer than 4 carts?
I think this happens more with the locomotives because they are longer. What happens is the next car is spawned too close, so it gets despawned, interrupting spawning of the train. I will see if I can confirm this and fix it.

I assume the issue is just that the spawning placement logic I have is imperfect. I didn't take the time to figure out all the kinks.

also, im using a custom map, but it has a MASSIVE ring rail - https://lone.design/product/synecdoche-rust-map/ - but that wouldn't effect it would it?

OH! i got it to spawn ---- a quarter of the train that time. just by reloading it over and over---maybe youre onto something with the spawn logic...

I did some investigation and figured out part of the problem. When a train car overlaps two splines (two separate track sections), the calculations for where to place the following train car seem to be incorrect, so one train car overlaps the other, causing Rust to destroy the rear one at the end of the frame (after all the train cars are spawned). When that train car in the middle is destroyed, it basically breaks the train into two trains. When the plugin goes to re-enable visibility of all train cars (the plugin makes them temporarily invisible since the train needs to wiggle a little bit after spawning), only the trains connected to the rear section of train are re-enabled, causing the ones in the front to just have floating conductors.
I will look more into why the calculations are wrong, so that the train car can be spawned in the correct position, and I will block Rust from destroying the train car to prevent breaking up the train.

also if it helps it seems to be an issue specifically at the 4th cart -- if i spam reload sometimes i get it to spawn the locomotives and 2 carts, but never a fifth
