Two or three versions of Rust ago, scientists could walk or run anywhere they wanted and now they can only run in radtown. As for murderers they don't work and scarecrows don't attack. How do you fix this? Can the old system be added back to a server with the new updates?
Change of the IA of scientists . The murderer and the scarecrow do not work

does anyone involved in Rust development interact here? Seems like a reasonable question, and such a long time without any acknowledgment..
Yep Looks like you just Did :)
FP changed the behaviour of the game bots AI which also screwed up all the bot plugins , the bot plugin devs did a lot of work to remedy the problems they had but could not fix game bots, you would have to look around for bot plugins to install to improve your game experience.
its seems rather a waste of time to resurrect an old thread as the poster might not even be involved in the game anymore or might have already fixed the problem (?)

Seems hes replying to all the old threads he must have lots of spare time.

Your first response was super unhelpful, but this one is even worse. So older posts that are describing issues still relevant today should just be ignored? Don't think so, kid. Reponse times are super important. I'm a plugin dev, not part of the umod team. If this was my platform, I would never let questions sit unanswered for over a week. I have a lot of spare time? You have a lot of growing-up to do.

thanks for taking the time to respond. If an older thread is so old that we're declaring it irrelevant, why not delete it altogether? Answering threads isn't about the original poster, it's 99% for the people afterwards searching for a solution experiencing the same problem. When ppl come to a thread that was unanswered for over a year, it tells them something about umod in general, about how likely of a response they will get if they post a new thread. Not much hope, in this case.

Which shows that you seem to be unaware that as shown in my original post remedied any problems with their plugin bots, if there is no longer any problem there is no reason to answer and as the behaviour is with the "game" bots any problem should be addressed to FP, You say the problem is still relevant today (?) which is not the case as FP already modified the AI after their first unfortunate attempt at redesigning the behaviour , I find that all (game) scientists behave in much the same manner as they did 2-3 or 5 years ago.
resurrecting old meaningless threads does not assist anyone who is having problems with "game" bots now as there is nothing devs here can do anything about them.
And as stated above there is no indication that the original poster is even interested in the thread anymore and there were no other server owners who were encountering the same problem and adding to the thread.
I am NOT a plugin dev but i have been reading and posting threads here (and oximod) for 7+ years , you are (1) @2 years , Razor is (13) @7+ years , so i think i would take your opinion on the response time on this site with a pinch of salt.
Bots changed mutipal times in that time and no one had an answer then so to respond to a issue that will not be relevent a year later would most likley confuse more then help.
Are you suggesting that my having 1 or 2 years experience in a specific community (vs 13) has any impact on the quality of my standards for human response times?
Also, I'm referring specifically to scarecrows/murderers - those are still an issue.. unless you're willing to spend more money on a specific plugin.
Bots changed multiple times. Then (in my out of touch standards) there should have been updates here, multiple times.
Yes if you have time to answer all the years of questions that have changed threwout the rust life to meet your "(in my out of touch standards) there should have been updates here, multiple times." Feal Free.. Im still waiting for the answer to the question at the top of this thread? While i go back to work and my real life ill stop in and check.

True, the problem was fully explained at the time and as i said fixed for the bot behaviour with plugins (as murderers were made redundant by FP)
so fixed afaik or care, lack of interest makes me unwatch this "expired" thread
Come to uMod and submit a question! .. if you wait long enough, you might get to watch it die a slow death. Eventually, you'll go away and we'll say "hey, there doesn't seem to be any more interest." We turn your questions, time and energy into no-interest.
Unacknowledged posts are symptomatic of a poorly operating community forum. It's standard practice for forums to look for unanswered posts that are about to hit the 1 week mark (via some db report), to ensure that no one's posts go that long without an acknowledgement. (not an answer necessarily, an acknowledgment). You can't just rely on the community for all the heavy-lifting.
My initial suspicion was either poor policy management or poor human resource management.
However, your response corrected me. You actually think it's ok for questions to go unacknowleged, and you seem allergic to the idea of adopting higher standards. That's everything I needed to know. Your response to someone who has shown geniune concern is to suggest that their concern might have come from them having too much time on their hands. Like I might care too much. That was your first response. You sounded like a fool. People who hold you to a higher standard are your allies. Lose them, and all you have left are yes-men and an antiquated product - blockbuster anyone?
My expectations were the issue. I've updated them now.

Im assuming you think mods here get paied and should devote there life to watching every thread. I think you missed the Communirt Support part of the intro.
I've already updated my expectations.. you're g2g bro
