Recommended game server hosts?

Hey All - What hosts do people use?

The current one I have is horrible. I've heard many others with similar issues with them. I'd just love to have a discussion on who people used, what their experiences are with them etc. :)

Hopefully this is allowed on this forum, if not, sorry.

I often see people complaining about their game server hosts. Have you considered spending your money on your own hardware and building your own physical server, instead of paying a monthly premium and having to rely on someone else? The Rust server software is free and pretty easy to use. The downside is that a home broadband connection doesn't usually have as much outgoing bandwidth as a commercial server in a datacenter, but in my experience this is not the limiting factor, the CPU/RAM etc is more important for good FPS.
"Where's a good place to buy a car in Las Vegas?"

"You should go to Houson and buy a truck instead."
"Can I have some opinions please?"

"Here have a sarcastic, unhelpful remark instead."
I had a very bad experience with Multiplay (no ftp access) and their problems with installing plugins in the correct folders, it got so bad over a Christmas period that the server was down till the middle of January the next year,
I changed to Streamline servers in October 2016 and have had only minor disruptions since then (server hardware mostly) so would recommend them, the pricing is good and response is prompt. I am also paying less per slot than i was for Multiplay and have full ftp access.
I use gameserverking best host i found so far. I DO NOT recomend mcprohosting as they can take up to 24 hours after an oxide update befor its available to you.
I always see adds for gameserverkings here on umod but to be honest the price seems to low for what they offer so it looks too good to be true. Or it's a shared server where if there are multiple people on a virtual machine and if one guy has a laggy server on the same machine it will affect yours too.
i have been using them for 3 months with out any issues.

how many players/sleepers/plugins/fps/entities?

on my opion hosthavoc is one of the best server hosting at the moment,
but they are expensive as hell which i can onder stand, I used this hosting provider for 6 years untill I created my own hosting company,
And why did i do that well first at all I doesn't cost me that much of money, and second, I can take it 24/7 online which is nice, but if you don't wonna host it on your own I can recommend Hosthavoc  they the best in game server hosting,

I do not want to blast the host I am currently using. I do hope they improve their service but I can no longer deal with the numerous issues I've had for months.

Yes, I have thought of hosting it myself, however, I move around far too much to be able to have a physical box where I live. That would create a lot of down time for playes. :/

I have heard about "OVH" and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them?

DDoS protection is almost 4 digits a month.

Yea I guess you'd need that if you're planning on having a busy PvP server full of toxic kids lol

What? Pretty much all server hosts have ddos protection included?

I think he is talking about protecting a home server (?)
