Hey , could you check in the imgur side if the backpack logo still there ? its not showing here, stopped just today with image error ?

Imgur did this earlier in the year to lots of images. We weren't sure what happened, but some speculated that it was deleting highly used/embedded images that were uploaded without an account. This time, it seems that they deleted (without notice) images that were uploaded with my account.

I should have the images somewhere. I can get them uploaded as skins to workshop and we can refer to the skin ids in the config, so we can avoid image hosting problems in the future (steam has infrastructure designed to handle skin distribution).

I certainly encourage self hosting if you are open to that. I suspect the problem is partly central hosting. Imgur probably has stats showing that hundreds of thousands of users download the same image directly without ad views per day, which could cost them significant money, prompting them to delete such images. While separately hosted images, even if hosted on imgur, can pass under the radar more easily, and the blast radius of an image take down is much smaller (one server network instead of thousands).

I will make the skin option the default so that new users of the plugin don't have to take a step to host the images if they don't want to.

Until then I am using this one that I found on the internet. I slapped it into dropbox, replaced links in Backpack Button and seems to work fine. But I do prefer your original ones over this one, looks too cartoonish for me. lol

Also, I found that my imgur account seems to no longer exist. It's been about a year since the incident last year when I had to login to upload the new images. Evidently they now have a 1 year inactivity policy where they delete your account without any email warning or notification.

Not sure if it matters but change the 0 on the end of your share link to a 1 so its downloadable ... and also make sure you F1 console oxide.reload both Backpacks and BackpackButton. ;)

i put the link from dropbox into the config file for backpacks changed  the 0 to a 1 and it doesnt work after reloading all

I had the same problem earlier in the year as all mine are hosted on Imgure but i uploaded new images to Imgur and have had no problems since . the only (unanswered) fault on mine is it will not allow me to edit images once i upload them to Imgur now ?
