To assign a permission, use oxide.grant <user or group> <name or steam id> <permission>.

What do I type in <user or group>? Do I type either "user" or "group" or do I have to use a specific user name or group name in place of that?

Same thing with <name or steam id>  Do I put my current steam account name, the original account name, or my steam 64 id? There's way too many possibilities for errors here, Im surprised you didnt specify this in the explanation.

Finally, do I need to actually write "permission" or do I replace that with one of the actual permissions, like "backpacks.use" or "backpacks.admin"???

I basically have a question about every single step in your command because it's not clear the way it is written.....
