There are several plugins that work with it, as for pets there is another plugin call personal animals that takes place of pets that uses the tamer skill.

You can also use wizardy, archery, backpacks, that can use stats or skills to control them.

There is also the XPerience addon available on codefling.

do you have a recommendated way to have UINotify setup for XPerience, ive tweeked the default one and its not 100% opt. for XP yet.

No specific recommendations but there is a website dedicated for XPerience setup.
