would it be possible to insert a prefix for the log then one could search nicer in the log for the entries

In the meantime you may be able to get by with using this string that shows up in the console log for this plugin. Note this comes from a server that has had no changes to the localization settings. String to look for "Rejecting connection - You are not whitelisted"

I have actually used the log pattern to create a fail2ban filter so if someone repeatedly tries to connect, my server firewall will block their IP.
