How do I disable or remove the Custom Welcome Messages feature?
as soon as the plug-in is reloaded it adds the line back into config again.
Am I missing something?

Why do you want that? Simply don't use it and you're fine
i have a server "WelcomeMessage" setup atm .. after installing the newest version. when I log in it add my id to the config and simply says "welcome" I dont receive the normal greeting from the lang file "WelcomeMessage"

Same here to both since v1.5.2
The message from the lang file is not displayed, and each player gets a new section added as a list item to the config option Custom Welcome Messages with their welcome message being "Welcome", which is the only thing that's displayed to any player that joins.
