Possible to disable fog?Not An Issue
Hi,

I really like this weather system! possible to remove fog from the weather system ?
You could edit the plugin json file and remove the references to weather.fog? it will take a bit of editing though..
I may look at adding more configuration options at some stage, but this is a very busy time of year so don't hold your breath!

Well i tryed that one, removed the fog the plugin, but with some weather types the sun is so bright (Because the fog doesnt hold the light back) that it doesnt look good

Yeah it is not easy to get a good balance of settings to make the weather both realistic and practical.  Took a while of manually screwing around with settings to get it right.

Hey, try the latest version. I have removed brightness/contrast effects for now. Once you remove fog again this may hopefully result in vanilla Sun brightness. Let me know how it does.

The last time i removed all lines with fog in it from the .cs file but that did cost me some time to do it :P

Is there a faster way?

if i only remove

"rw lightfog",
"rw fog",
"rw heavyfog",

there will be still some fog in the storm weather type, but thats not really a big problem i gues

Is there a major reason you want fog removed? I've done a lot of benchmarking and it doesn't seem to have a performance impact on most hardware. Then again I was benchmarking for a stable 60fps on medium and high settings.

I will post an alternate cs without fog once I have a couple more things finished

Well some people complained that the fog was to heavy that they didnt even saw the attack heli.

Not tested this new version, some fog is fine, heavy fog is realistic but its still a game and the attack heli event will only come once in 2 hours so thats why.

I really like the weather system, personaly i also like the fog but as a player i can understand the struggle

I'll look into that aspect of it. Thanks for the specifics, helps a lot when I know better what exactly the issue is. The heli obviously won't be easy to see in certain conditions but if it's IMPOSSIBLE to see at close range that'd not good either.

Personally I speed up the vanilla events by around 35% using the Automated Events plugin so that may be why I haven't gotten complaints from my own players yet. Will look into it either way.

Ps try new version and let me know if it's different than before in that regard

I will try the new version for sure! I really like the weather system better than rust own system!

Only the console will be spammed full but i didnt noticed any lag so its not a problem

It only spams console because it is automatically putting in rust's weather commands at it works.... which it does quite frequently to make the weather transitions smooth. (In otherwords, lots of commands for small changes.... as opposed to fewer commands with larger/less natural looking changes as weather fades in and out).

I actually think the original author overdid it a bit with how smooth it is though, I might simplify it a tad some day if I can do so without making the roll in/roll out of the weather too "jerky"
