when I removed all virtual items perms from myself, it still looks like I have 10,000 stacks of everything even though I cant craft with it. Restarting, dying, relogging, even removing virtual items and item retriever, etc doesnt fix it. It's not happening to other admins on my server. I can't use the resources, but they show up in my craft menu

dont know why but after fiddling with it and relogging multiple times it eventually worked. not a huge issue but worth mentioning anyway

Most likely, the issue was that your client had a stale inventory snapshot. The way Item Retriever works is that it overrides the inventory snapshot to make your client think you have bonus items. When you revoke permission for a Virtual Items ruleset, the plugin doesn't automatically send you a new snapshot, so it will initially appear as though you still have the bonus items. As soon as your inventory changes, the server will send a new snapshot, which Item Retriever and Virtual Items will work together to modify if necessary. The simplest way to make your inventory reset is to just change your active hotbar item.
