How to use with Claim Vehicle Ownership and Vehicle Decay ProtectionSolved

Do I need all 3 of your plugin if I want to be able to claim and lock vehicles and also so they want decay if locked and within owners TC range?

It depends on how you want to configure them.

Using the default configuration of Vehicle Deployed Locks, players with permission to lock vehicles don't require ownership. However, this may allow for griefing, especially for vehicles that spawn along roads/beaches, where players lock all vehicles they see, even though they are not using them. You can mitigate this griefing by configuring the plugin to auto unlock vehicles that have not been used, and/or you can configure the plugin to require ownership to lock vehicles.

If you decide to require ownership to place locks, many vehicles may automatically have ownership assigned, such as those spawned by plugins, or those spawned at vendors (if using Vehicle Vendor Options plugin with correct permission). However, vehicles that spawn on roads/beaches will not have an owner assigned, so the only way players will be able to lock them is if they claim the vehicle first using Claim Vehicle Ownership. To summarize, if you want to require ownership, and you also want the random vehicles to be lockable, then you will need Claim Vehicle Ownership.

Vehicle Decay Protection has nothing to do with locks. It works only based on ownership. As stated in the previous paragraph, many vehicles may already have ownership assigned due to other plugins, but vehicles spawned on roads/beaches will not, so if you want players to be able to obtain no decay for those naturally spawned vehicles, then you need Claim Vehicle Ownership.

This post has made me realize something. A good suggestion for Vehicle Decay Protection is to make it so that placing a lock on a vehicle causes it to not decay, as though it had ownership assigned. I will look into making that happen in a future update to Vehicle Decay Protection. Alternatively, I could look into auto assigning ownership when locking a vehicle, but that has some other ramifications which I'd like to avoid for now. Either improvement will reduce the need to have the Claim Vehicle Ownership plugin installed.

Thank you, that ansered my question clearly I went ahead and used all 3 on my server to help with greving like you explained Only issue i was facing was the (example) minicopter was decaying after they where bought at banditcamp and brough back to thier base even after the claimed and locked them, but adding nodecay plugin and setting the config to 0 I think now fixes that issue

My recommendation for bandit helis is to use Vehicle Vendor Options and grant the ownership permission so that the heli will be automatically owned by the purchaser. This avoids the player needing to claim it manually. Additionally, the Vehicle Decay Protection nodecay permission will prevent the player's owned vehicles from decaying. From what you described, it sounds like the nodecay permission has not been granted to the player for the minicopter vehicle type.
