Rust Livestock, protecting tamed animalsSolved

In preparation of the upcoming livestock update, it would be good if TruePVE could access the bonded status of animals and then protect them from harm except for the person they're bonded to. I'm not sure what will and won't be possible but the branch is available starting today on aux01. Password is livestock2026, make sure to start your server with -useNewNavmesh.

heya, I'll note this down for later this month

Thanks! ♥️

Is there any update on this?🙂

yep, just finished RaidableBases update so I will finish up TruePVE next.

So we had over population and no one could kill them until I toggled True PVE off so it is preventing the ones in the wild from being able to be killed.

heya, this is caused by a game bug. they are working on a fix. it currently breaks TruePVE as those animals are not wild when they should be. it will work normally once the issue is fixed:

Facepunch has just released a fix for this, update your servers. Use the new livestock.cullexcess command they just added if you continue to have population issues after restarting the server.

The damage issue with animals persists even with the game bug being fixed. This is because the animal is not wild, even though it should be. Simply killing them and letting them respawn will fix the issue.

The easiest way to kill is with the ent kill or del command. To kill all cows: del assets/rust.ai/agents/cow/cow.prefab

If you don't want to do anything, then you don't have to. The animals affected by the bug will all slowly decay trust back to 0, and TruePVE will consider them wild again.
