I make changes to the config file and when I reload the plugin to make those changes take effect, the config reloads to the default configuration.

the config can't reset itself. so you have a json error or an issue with your web panel

I just reinstalled the plugin, changed the config and when I reloaded it and opened the config it was back to default.

and what did you change? you need to give some information and be specific

it is either your web panels file manager, a lack of permissions to save the file, a plugin or admin using tpve.def command, or by removing all rulesets or groups from the config...

web panels that do not remove cache properly will revert any changes
