Immediately after installation and using the tcmap update command, the packet flooding problems started.
Noticed messages like this one in Console log:

Stay away!
Unoptimized: causing packet flooding, kicking players out of the server!
Confirmed, do not use this addon. It's completely scuffed.

Update: the above mentioned "packet flooding" issue was caused by another network related issue, not this plugin! Sorry for that. Still, long processing times for this plugin remain unjustified, UI isn't user friendly and you need to touch the code for it to not break the map completely.
