What are you doing when server crashes?

What are you or your players doing when your server crashes ?
With mine its building, if there is a common link in the reason for the crashes it will be easier for the devs to find a solution,If you can post the incident here (not that it is crashing) it might help,

I run a creative server where people build lots of huge buildings, elecricity, turrets and SAM sites, spawn vehicles and do all kinds of crazy things, but I've never had a crash. The only exception was the last Rust update but updating umod to v2.0.4137 solved that and I haven't had a crash since. All in all I would say that Rust servers are pretty stable these days.

Umod plugins shouldn't crash a server either since they have a good exception handling layer where you should only see error messages and not cause a server crash. Do you maybe have a hardware issue (RAM, hard drive)? Are you using consumer level or server level hardware (eg. ECC memory, RAID in performance mode)?

On our server we figured out it was due to some hooks together colliding (possible deadlock or something just speculating here) but seems to be with the disabled hooks especially. Zone Manager is also a known cause for crashes. UberTool is another cause (paid plugin) whenever you remove something with ubertool in a zone it crashes the server.

I specifically asked for "what you (the players)" were doing when the server crashed" not that the server was crashing !, I am using a hosted server and have been using Oxide (umod) plugins for the last 4 years so have had plenty of experience of the reliabilty or otherwise.
I was looking for a common cause of the crashes, such as building, removing, airdrops, removing etc, My own hardware is able to handle playing the game, i7 with 32gb ram and a 4gb graphics card, but if you read all the posts submitted since the last update you will see that it is the plugins (with disabled hooks) that are causing the servers to crash,

As far as I managed to figure it out it's some deep rooted issue somewhere in ZoneManager which gets caused by a person building anything in any zone of ZoneManager, and it's random too, so it's not a given that it will crash on every block places.
At least this is the case on my server and took me around 3 hours to figure every single possible cause out. I personally also don't get any errors, server just freezes, that's it.

Rust tweeted about an hr ago they will be releasing a mandatory update to address server crashes.
My guess is it hasn't been entirely oxide causing the crashes.

It appears the crashes have indeed been fixxed this update, but it's kinda random while placing things but seems it's fixxed now. ZoneManager just happened to cause the exact situation causing the crash quite a lot I guess.

I don't use Zone Manager and my server has been crashing multiple times per day since this month's wipe.  Hopefully today's update fixes things.
