Command window all jacked up on fresh install?

Did rust update early or something?

I have the same behavior on 2 completely dif PCs where the command window no longer scrolls new info downwards. Like any command prompt should.

Instead it just shows the same text on 90% of the command prompt window. And shows all the activity in ONE single line, at the top.... lol

Ive been hosting for like 6 years now and have never seen this.

Figuring I messed up somehow, I went off the server pc over to a random mac in the house running bootcamp windows 11, rust dedicated has never been installed on it. Same thing ended happening on that command window too.

Anyone else getting this on a fresh install? Or seen it before? Main server pc is failing to load even a basic procgen map. Failing at railroads. Missingxyz something. Command prompt cut the error off and nothing in logs.

I also noticed really funky auth behavior on steam the last 30 hours or so.

p.s. Seems to be doing this to all PCs now, even without oxide, hmm :/

ive had this happen to me.  somehow the cmd window opens and not the reg rust client window. ive played with the batch file and one issue i found. if batch has a pause in it, the cmd window will never close. even without a pause, the cmd window will glitch on me just like yours

I know this is old but I found a solution that worked for me.

Go to developer settings in windows, change your default terminal back to windows console host instead of windows terminal

This works to fix the console display issues, however, I now have an issue with everything being doubled up.. at least it is better than before.

11/15/2024 - This is still helping people. Worked great! Thank you.
