Players are disconnecting before even joining.

No player can join my server since todays wipe. I have changed my map (I'm using a custom one), but no-one can join. Reading the server console suggests nothing to me, but I'm getting a wall of error text when someone tries to join.

The issue says:

Has anyone ever came across anything like this before? I think it could have something to do with my map, but I don't want to go changing that without knowing the cause to this.

I have updated steam and umod, I have wiped the server, I have done everything I'd normally do.

Thanks,
Christopher.

You could try opening your map in RustEdit and saving it again to see if that changes anything.

I'll try this. My map is a custom map, but I bought further custom prefabs and manually added them to the map via RustEdit. I'm loading up the default custom map right now to see if this fixes things. At least that way, I'll know that it was me that broke things when adding these custom prefabs to the map.

EDIT: No. The actual map I know that works is giving me the same error. Damn I'm lost.

Merged post

I've found another post on this forum with something really similar: https://umod.org/community/rust/43796-players-kicked-when-using-custom-map

I'm going to look into following the advice from there to see if I can find something here,
Christopher.

How do you know that map works exactly?
After a Rust update maps can just break, so if it was working before it can very easily just be broken now...

You're right, I may have been slightly optimistic with that statement. This map is one I've used on rotation for more than a year at this point. The map was obviously updated throughout that time, and was last updated in June this year.

I think that this wipe could have indeed broken this. I'm in talks with the maker of this map as we speak and will make sure to update here what they find.

My map is fixed. There was an issue with it. My map had something called "Rock Splash" on it. Facepunch removed that from the game and thus causing this issue. Removing the Rock Splash fixed everything.

A couple of questions: Do you use a custom map and have you fixed this?

Christopher.
