Player Can't Drop Items From Inventory...Solved

I have a player that can't seem to drop anything from their inventory. They can move stuff around within their inventory, but can't DROP anything. Ideas?

Has the player tried both approaches: 1) dragging items out of the inventory, and 2) clicking the "Drop" action on each item?

Glancing at the Rust code for dropping items, there could be many possible reasons that the player could drop an item, but most reasons are implausible.

  1. The player's client is not sending the action to the server
  2. The server thinks the player is wounded/downed (unlikely unless they appear wounded/downed)
  3. A plugin is using the OnItemAction hook to block the "drop" action for that player or their specific items
  4. The items are locked (checkered gray appearance)
  5. The items are not actually in their inventory at all
Even if the cause is one of the above, I would have no idea what to do about it besides keep investigating how that happened in the first place.

One thing you could try is use the Inventory Viewer plugin to loot their inventory, and see if you can drop items from their inventory. That will rule out some possibilities around issues with the items themselves. Another possible troubleshooting step is to write a simple plugin that logs every time the OnItemAction hook is called, to see if the actions are even getting sent to the server (though there are some checks which will prevent the OnItemAction code path from being reached such as the server thinking the player is wounded).

Looks like it was a mouse malfunction.  Thanks.
