Oxide permission commands not workingNot An Issue

i have installed the vanish plugin but i cant assign vanish capabilites to myself.  please forgive my ignorance of all this, as i literally just started learning yesterday. thanks in advance for any help.

this is the "code" i am using to try and assign the capabilites:

oxide.grant clutorious 76561############ vanish.allow

where clutorious is my username and the numbers are my steam ID. i do have owner admin rights alrady set. both plugin file and config json files are in the appropriate location in the oxide folder.

thanks again for any help

maybe I can understand how the doc can be confusing to someone new, but <user or group> literally means user OR group.. if you just want to assign it to yourself then use user, but most assign to group admin

oxide.grant user 7656....... vanish.allow
or
oxide.grant group admin vanish.allow - as you should be in the admin group because you are authlevel 1 or 2

Hey max, thanks so much for getting bact to me. i have been doing some more reading and learning about different oxide/umod groups, i.e the defualted ones of admin and default. whats weird is when i try and show the groups by using the command "oxide.show groups" it gives me a "not found error"... shoulndn't that work to show the 2 defualted groups of admin and default? i am going to try what you just wrote and get back to you. thanks so much again.

so i tried assigning the capabilites but it seems like maybe oxide isn't installed correctly or something even though i have already succesfully done 2 other mods of gathering and stack sizes. any oxide.xxxx command seems to return an error. https://ibb.co/txCszNV . here is a pic of every way i tried. i tried exactly what you wrote first and then tried different iterations as i thought maybe i was still misunderstanding

yes it seems oxide is not installed correctly / at all.

Hey Everyone. i just embarked on setting up a local server yesterday so i am as green as they come so i appolgize for my ignorance. I have a server up and running that i am able to connect to via localhost connection. i have installed 2 mods successfully so far, one being a gather mod and one a stack size mod and have implemented them sucessfully as well. the thing is it seems like any oxide.xxx command that i try and run gives me an error. for instance when i try and find out what default groups exsist by typing "oxide.show groups" it returns "Command 'oxide.show groups' not found". when i try and assign a plugin to a group i get the same error. i do have the oxide/umod files in the correct place. the only weird thing that i noticed is that my oxide json file is labeled as oxide.config.json and in the uMod permission FAQ doc i noticed theirs is umod.config.json. do i have an old versoin or something or was that FAQ just not updated (i thought umod came after oxide though). i can provide any screen grabs or what not if that helps. thanks in advnace for any help.

If the commands do not work, Oxide is not properly installed. Make sure you are installing Oxide after all game updates. Otherwise, please check your logs for errors.

As far as Oxide and uMod go, they are separate projects and what you download via Games on our site right now is still Oxide. The oxide.config.json wouldn't have anything to do with your commands working or not though generally.

so strange. its def installed as far as i can tell. maybe i insatlled the wrong version. i woulnd't be able to put the other plugins into the oxide folders and they all appeared automatically when i installed oxide. would you think the best way to correct this is to re DL oxide, import and replace exisiting files when prompted like it did originally?showing folder of oxide DL:  https://ibb.co/wLDqFKs

the horrors of threads getting mixed/merged here at umod! plz stop! 'as far as i can tell' so what does it say when you do oxide.version? do you have oxide logs? how do you 'tell' excatly?

thank you for mergin those threads wulf. since i had orignaly posted under a specific plugin thread i wasn't sure if that was the appropriate place sinceit was prob a more general issue. i will go ahead and redownload/import oxide and replace any needed files. thanks a ton for the help.

Command 'oxide.version' not found. it must be corrupted or something. im going to redownload/import . sorry for the multiple posts as well.

If the command isn't found, you're either missing Oxide.Rust.dll or Oxide simply isn't installed.

shouldn't the oxide.rust.dll file automatically be installed when downloading v2.0.5449 or am i missing a piece to the puzzle?
