Friends can't connect to my server, even though I forwarded the ports.Solved

Hello, I am unable to fix my friends being unable to connect to my server, my startup script is below,

echo off
:start
C:\steamcmd\steamcmd.exe +login anonymous +force_install_dir c:\trueonegrid\ +app_update 258550 +quit
RustDedicated.exe -batchmode +server.port 28015 +levelurl "pleaseletmepostthis" +server.maxplayers 50 +server.hostname "GigaChadRust | TRUE ONE GRID | Savas Style |" +server.description "NOT FINISHED" +server.url "nothing" +server.headerimage "nothing" +server.identity "GCR" +rcon.port 28016 +rcon.password letmein +rcon.web 1
goto start

Portfoward

start the server up then start up rust game. press F1 and enter into the console

client.connect 192.168.YOUR.LOCAL_IP:28015

if you can connect to the server and its running fine then its down to portforwarding. or its being blocked by firewall or software.

I can connect just fine, I've opened ports in both my firewall and router, I'm not sure what else I'm missing.

Have you added rules to windows firewall?

They might have to use your public IP. I would imagine they would only use your local IP if they were one the same network as you.

Have you checked with your isp?

Just an update for people looking in the future for this. We had a double layer modem router system. Make sure you open ports on both routers otherwise it will remain closed to the internet
