Possible to run server behind VPN?

Hello there !,so I had my modded server hosted on a VPS and I could not afford keep on renting it, but I have my hp laptop with 16RAM. downloaded the rust server and oxide to my laptop and pretty obviously the public ip of the laptop is the same as my pc..
So I wondered, Is it possible to host a rust server on my laptop machine and use my VPN's public ip as the servers ip while laptop is connected via VPN? reason is I dont want my public ip to be on the rust server's list...
If somebody knows a way how to achieve this or change public ip on one machine while using the same router id be really really happy !thanks :)

No.

A VPN is an outgoing service, you can't have it incoming. There is no easy way to hide your rustserver IP.

btw why you want to hide your IP when people are supposed to connect via IP... even if you just join via server browser everything behind is happening  the server IP... In case you worry about DDOS-ing just get better ddos protected host and be fine.

My ISP has great ddos protection though I want it hidden becasue I host the server on my Laptop which is connected to the same router as my PC and they both have the same public ip.. why would I want people to see my public IP XD...

Your residential ISP will not be able to protect you from a DDoS attack, whatever they may tell you. If you have a static IP and you are not able to easily change it (with a router restart or whatever) then you will find yourself in a world of pain with no internet for days on end if some angry kid decides to target you. Your ISP may even threaten to suspend your account to protect other customers, even if you try to explain that it's not your fault. I know all this from first hand experience. I'm not trying to scare you off, just making you aware of the realities.

Trust me I know much about this stuff,, I pay extra each month for more protection and my public IP changes on every restart... Not something new, I want 2 public ip numbers one for each machine using the same router..

No, you want something different. You want 2-5 proxies that you will use for your traffic and your main server always will be hidden behide proxy.  Same as cloudflare works now

Server <-> Proxy <-> Players

They will never share it with you. Or give you overprice like "pay is 10000$/ month". I was working on something like that but i abandoned idea a bit. If you want you can contact me and we will discuss paid development of that idea

What VPN do you have?
