Rust server suddenly wiped (out of memory)Solved
My Rust server has suddenly wiped. Without me or my host doing anything. What could have caused this?

this is the moment it decided to wipe? How the hell is this even possible? I cant put back a backup because it's the same map and obviously it has been overwritten.

How can I fix this? Is there any way?

The wipe occurred as a result of the server crashing when it exceeded the current memory limit. The crash occurred while the server was saving data from memory to disk, during that process it exceeded the memory limit.

This is from the gs_crash.log:
"[Tue Oct 23 12:40:08 2018] [108_61_98_220_28036_ruste] Server has exceeded maximum RAM limit (7680 MB), killing

This is from the log just prior to the crash:

Apparently it can. This is why you should never rent a server at gameservers. There goes my playerbase.

Welcome to Gameservers! The only solution is to move hosts! They cant help with that, they blame oxide or rust of memory leaks. But if you want to stay with them, do weekly wipes or 2 wipes a month, otherwise it ill crash. Got same problem with gameservers, im jsut moved to another host!
Well actually if  you are quick you can still retain your player base, Just choose a host that gives you full ftp access and
enough memory.
I used to rent a server from Multiplay which is similar to Gameservers (no ftp access, low memory) but after a year of pain i moved to Streamline, its cheaper, went from 30pop server to 50 pop server, have 6gb memory, and high speed cpu,
Had no problems with support who are friendly and helpfull, and it costs me a lot less as they are located in the same city as i am whereas multiplay was payable in England.
all you have to do is make sure you have the same server name so your player base can find you on search menu,
check out SurvivalServer, im there for about 7 months with no problem, once they had to move my server (1 hour down) they send me an email one week ago about that, but my oxide folder got deleted (they told me a backup will automatic) but their backups dont include oxide folder, they give me 7 or 10 days free for this. and now i know i have to backup on my pc only oxide folder. the support is really fast and friendly.

if my post breaks any rulle im sorry, i can delete the post. I dont know if im able to share about hosts.
