Players flying on my server with RustDeveloper tagSolved
Hi, so I have just had 2 guys on my server, usernames Tips and Strictlyjungle, my players have claimed they were flying around and draining peoples turrets. Also they had a yellow [RustDeveloper] Tag, I can see in the .cs file that it is possible for someone to have that but these guys were obviously hackers right? There would be no reason for rust devs to join a random modded server and start flying around surely.

Is there a way for me to just delete the Rust developer tag? It seems someones figured out how to get access to it
That tag is shown with Better Chat when a user is set as a developer on the server. This would have to have been done either by a plugin (Faux Admin, Faux Clip, etc.) or from having a matching hard-coded Steam ID that is set as a developer in Rust.
Turns out they were actually facepunch staff, my bad. but thanks for the fast response
so what was the reason "for rust devs to join a random modded server and start flying around" ?
XD i'd ban them for joining and admin abusing on my server in a heartbeat rust dev or not.

These users recently connected to my server, I'm not sure if they are legitimate Facepunch staff, however some of my users have complained that they have been flying around and draining peoples turrets. I'm just wondering if it's possible to get a confirmation whether they are actual staff or not? Because if not, they have access to noclip and I would need to get it sorted out.

They are Facepunch staff, they wouldn't drain turrets deliberately but they may have been investigating a bug at some point.  Nothing to worry about though.  You can see the full team here and cross check Steam ID info:  https://steamcommunity.com/groups/facepunch_staff
pretty unprofessional of them. Whats stopping them from running the same mapsize+mapseed so other people's turrets dont get drained?
