I am now seeing when players destroy a sleeping bag with for example a salvaged cleaver. Pretty much if a player breaks anything with any weapon including a rock. Including their own items. I destroyed my campfire with an axe and received a raid tracker notification.

Not sure if this started after update or because I enable exp ammo tracking. Will disable exp ammo tracking and see if it persist.
