I have configured Prevent Looting so that it only protects sleeping players, their corpses and backpacks. I use another plugin to manage access to entities. However, the /share and /unshare commands still respond even though they aren't sharing/unsharing the entities. Shouldn't the commands be disabled, or a different message appear, if those features of this plugin are disabled? 

What plugin do you use for entities? This is what im trying to protect but this plugin seems to not be working properlyt
