I'd like to use this for a PVP zone on my PvE server, but not implemented outside of that zone. Is there any potential to be able to use this in zones?

The simplest way would probably be to make an addon plugin that makes use of the OnPowerlessInputUpdate hook to block this plugin from affecting entities outside the zones you care about. I could possibly make that addon plugin for you, if there's a straight forward way to identify which zones are PvP zones.
