It's nice that they copy the idea and put it for free, yes sir. Since as surely you know this idea is available for payment in another popular platform of mods for rust, since the launch of the cars.

From my understanding, copying an idea, especially a simple one like this that takes barely any code, is not sufficient grounds to take down a plugin from uMod (though the staff can decide that). Usually there has to be clear evidence the plugin code was copied.

If every plugin that is similar to a paid one were taken down, then people would be able to spam a wide range of ideas as premium plugins to essentially block development of similar free ones, which would be a devastating blow to everyone because free plugins are the bedrock of a modding community as they allow developers to learn from each other and share implementation details. The quantity and quality of plugins in general would be far less if developers didn't have the freedom to implement their ideas for no charge.

In my experience, merely seeing a premium plugin that does something similar to an idea I have is really discouraging because overall it's a duplication of effort if someone else has already figured it out. That kind of things honestly makes me want to quit modding altogether.

As a general intention while developing plugins, I try to respect existing premium plugins since those authors intended to get money from them (even if I consider them overpriced), but that should by no means prohibit a developer from putting in the work to implement a similar plugin for free.

This is not against any rules - taking ideas from paid third party plugins. If code is stolen, then let uMod staff team know, otherwise I don't see any other reason to bother them. Sometimes paid plugin developers take ideas from public free plugins, do you criticize them? I doubt, you just pay and use it in most cases and don't care where the idea came from.
Also I completely agree with WhiteThunder.

Ideas are the easiest thing in the world to come up with.  They're basically free.  I have found in my life that there are no shortage of idea people willing to inundate me with ideas for things they want implemented, 99.99% of which are _not_ original.  I have to avoid those people or I'll never get anything done.

There is an old saying: "there is nothing new under the sun."

Well, nothing, let's dedicate ourselves to copying ideas or code if we do not defend our work among ourselves.
