I would like to use MP to display some information from a plugin I am working on. 

Is that even possible or is it not designed for that and to only handle your additions?

It's definitely designed to be modular and allow other stuff to plug in. I haven't tried this myself yet - I've only copied existing panel plugins to make my own, like one for the traveling vendor.

i tried for a few days, but ended up having better luck just creating my own UI :/
