We used to use this a while back but stopped when clients were being kicked with red text errors across the screen after an FP update. It didn't affect everyone, and not all the time, but it caused enough problems that we gave up on it and moved to PlayRust.io maps instead.
So it's been over a year now and I thought I'd give this another go as it was a pretty good solution. I updated the one server I was using way back and with a lot of head scratching and URL editing (the menus are broken or incomplete on the beancan.io site) managed to add 4 others to reflect the different servers we'd added over time (PvE, Build, Solo and Duo).
I added the plugin back to our PvP server, set the config with the API key etc and reloaded. Lots of NREs, reported in another thread.
A month on and the 4 new servers I added to beancan.io are still awaiting approval. Given that and that parts of the website don't work, e.g. no links to get to the edit screen for servers that have been added, and that I can't delete images from those edit screens leads me to believe it's been abandoned.
Has it? If not, where do I go from here?

In response to PPlank (View post):I don't know. I've had my server registered 2 months ago. Maxed out my description to 1000 chars & everything up to date & its still pending. I gave up bothering with it & just downloaded the map myself & linked to it.

I don't think beancan.io is actively maintained anymore.?

In response to VsUK (View post):That's interesting. How did you download the map? I remember when I first started using LustyMap that you could do that from some site and then use a utility that would split it up. I'm willing to give that another go if it's still possible.

You never needed an approved server to use your API key.
I had to remove the server list due to some people abusing it. I will restore the ability to obtain API keys, but for the time being if you already have an API key the map generator is updated.

Appreciate it Caltic :)
As for the image. Go to Playrust.io & put in your map size/seed. Let the image load up & at the bottom, it lets you download it. Then just pop it in the directory, & put the name & extension in the json. Just to warn. Chrome seems not to even respond to the download click. I used firefox to get the download to start.

In response to VsUK (View post):Ah yep. I got it working thank you.
I noticed that the map is a little out, but I think that's because it has the grid edges on it. So I'll give it another go over the weekend on a different server with the grid cropped out and I expect it to then match up perfectly with my actual position. Cheers. :-)

In response to PPlank (View post):
Oh, Grid edges... I didn't think of cropping the image. But still, using the API feature, it should still cur out the grid edges but it doesn't work also.
A map that doesn't show your correct location seems a bit useless. But I will definately try cropping out the edges, never thought of that lol
