i updated the plugin and now it won't load

You'll have to delete your config from the previous version and redo your config file. I learned that the hard way as well. The new version's config is completely different than the older version.

? that error just means the cs file you uploaded was null and did not upload properly.

Simply don't use FileZilla to upload CS files. Use the hosting website directly and you won't have that issue.
