Plugin Approvals

Hey sorry to post this in the general support.. I don't really see another place to initiate communication.

I've updated a plugin two weeks ago, and submitted a new one a week ago and haven't heard anything.  Are we really really behind in plugin approvals, or am I doing it wrong?

Thanks

Reviews are conducted by a team of volunteers, and the turnaround time can vary based on their availability. Rest assured that it'll be reviewed as soon as a reviewer is available.

There aren't really any active reviewers recently. I recently reviewed a dozen or so plugins after having not done it for a while. There's still like 20 plugins that need a first review, spanning over a month of submissions, and a few that have been updated which need followup from a reviewer.

Plugins are processed according to their submission date. Yours was submitted on Jan 31, but we have yet to review plugins from mid Jan. Average time to first review recently is 1-2 months.

That's one of the downsides to non profit solutions.

While it's true that volunteer-based organizations can face challenges in terms of resources and manpower, it's important to maintain a positive and supportive outlook in situations like this, where there may be a backlog of submissions. We can all help out in our own ways, whether by lending a hand with reviewing, sharing knowledge, or simply being patient and understanding during these times.

And the upside (which far outways the stated downside) is that  you get to improve your server and players game experience without having to do anything but upload the plugin and take some time (in some cases) of spending time configuring it to your specs.

thanks so much, and I appreciate knowing this.  No rush, but I wanted to make sure I didn't need to do anything differently.  I do have a new plugin submission from Jan 31st, but I also have an updated plugin that was originally submitted mid 2022 that I updated early Jan 2023 as well.   Cheers.. and thanks for the work here.

I'm assuming you are referring to Monument Lock. I recall seeing notifications about it being updated. Unfortunately, it's so old that the review list doesn't even show it, as apparently the plugin review list has a limit of 40 items and seemingly no pagination. I was able to find it by searching your name, though.

40 is quite alot. In my days on the hacking forums where people would often try passing off malicious code in free hacks. Those were easy enough to detect and auto reject. Approval time was normally only 1 - 3 days. The issue with plugins and the fact they can greatly destroy a servers ability to operate with one bad code flaw. Means approval has to be done very meticulously. Even still poor performing plugins fall through the cracks.

Feel free to bump mine to the end of queue. As it's not a high priority.  Or even remove it altogether.

Monument Lock is what I'm referring to and thanks.  I don't envy the work you guys have ahead of you.
