im also having this issue on both my  PVE and PVP servers, was a solution ever found?

Same. Using your version of Nightlantern does not work with torches in torch holder.
The torches won't automaticaly lit up and when activating them manually they decay.

I was able to find a plugin that worked with it called Torch Holder No Damage! Until support is added for this to work properly, that would be a good work around. :)
