Invalid bot token error when bot token is valid

after checking bot token was entered correct & valid (works with other plugins) i'm still getting a bit of spam

The error message is coming from Discord. So I would regenerate the token and try again.

I have the same problem, but regenerating the token didn't work. 
Edit: Actually my error is a bit different

[Discord Extension] [Warning]: API Token does not appear to be a valid discord bot token: "##########################.######.######################################". Please confirm you are using the correct bot token. If the token is correct and this message is showing please let the Discord Extension Developers know.

This one can be ignored. The Token format changed and the extension needs to have its validator updated. The extension will function normally even with this message.
