Whenever I try to add group ('chat group add admin'), I'm getting this in console - buttons.chat "false" can I fix this by simply typing buttons.chat true? Or is something else wrong?

I assume you are getting that when using the F1 console inside of Rust?
The rust buttons.chat command is overriding the Better Chat command. I'd recommend to use the command in your chat, prefixed with / instead.
