Getting the ball rolling into 2021

Despite being only one month into 2021, great leaps of progress have been made with the beginning of uMod testing and the massive improvements to the website.

  COMMUNITY

First let us start by congratulating the community on surpassing 45 thousand registered users. There has also been an unbelievable number of contributions to uMod with 275+ plugin updates in the last 30 days and 1500 new posts in just this past week! Furthermore, there has been over 600 contributions made to uMod in January so far.

  PROGRESS

In preparation for the release of uMod (hopefully some time later this year), hundreds of Oxide plugins are now compatible with uMod. Dozens of compatibility issues have been fixed thanks to the continued support from those providing feedback, with testing still in progress. If you are interested in helping with uMod testing, you can find more information in the guides published on the site as well as our community Discord server.

  WEBSITE

You may have noticed a few changes when navigating uMod.org over the past few weeks. Due to the hard work being put in by Calytic, much of the site has been improved with a revamped updates tab and a new branches system for plugins.

I should also add that due to Calytic's hard work, images posted in forums and direct messages are now proxied meaning they are downloaded and served by uMod. This was done because we care about your privacy and safety on the site, this prevents users from linking images from potentially malicious sites.

  UPCOMING EVENTS

You can join our community Discord server to participate in this and future events.

  POLICY UPDATE

You should note that we have changed our data retention policy. User account data is now scrubbed about one year after account deletion.

That's great news. "Images posted in forums and direct messages are now proxied meaning they are downloaded and served by uMod." Do you think there will be a time where images can be uploaded directly to umod? I've never had any problem using imgur to store images and post them here, but it would be nice just to be able to post them directly here. The umod site does seem a little light on media compared to the old Oxide site and I was wondering if that's because images have to be hosted elsewhere.

Yes, it's an open issue.

The Website theme need some more work.

So is there any news on the marketplace?

In last years post was said it was nearly done and would roll out soon.. Just asking cuz like many others we are waiting for some plugins to buy yet the dev will only make it avaible when he can sell it on the market..

The status is the same as previously announced:

"We know that you are all eager to use the Marketplace and sell your work there, we're just as eager to get it launched! A lot of the functionality for the Marketplace hinges on uMod being released along with the tools necessary to make the Marketplace secure, easy-to-use, and reliable.

We will be focusing on the Marketplace more once uMod builds start rolling out for testing to ensure that everything is working and running smoothly for its public launch."

Nice that Marketplace coming soon. I want to spend some money on plugins xD
