I am looking to add it to my server but I want all the existing players to not get the protection. Is there a command to do that?

no, the protection is for all players, u can set it to last not long and assign additional protection for some reward eg. in ServerRewards or what ever with console command, its inbuilt in plugin sp.assign <steamid>
