Upgrading from 3.1.2 to 3.2.2. lost custom sizes in datafile. went to take migration steps and found no backup was created. Now going to edit file all over again...again.
_backup was not created - lost all custom sizes again
It is always better if you make a backup of any data files especially for plugins with very large ones.
kits do the same... lost everything...

kits are all there as there was no kit upgrade (so far) if you had kit reset player data on wipe (as i did) all the player data would have reset to zero uses,
Before i update any new (large data file plugin) update i backup all the data files , so this time i made a copy of these data files
SSC Vanilla default, SSCBackup/Data/SSC. json and also the Config json.

The plugin changed the structure 5 updates ago ? to 3.1.3 to 3.1.4 to 3.2.0 to 3.2.1 to 3.2.2
