I'm getting the following

22:00 [Error] SmartChatBot v2.0.12: Failed to load config file (is the config file corrupt?) (After parsing a value an unexpected character was encountered: ". Path '['Auto Responses'][82]['Auto Responses'][0].Answers[1]', line 3619, position 3.)

But I've validated my JSON on 3 different JSON validation websites.

What could this be?

Could you provide the changes you made via a pastebin.com link?

Thanks for the response, but I'd rather not share my config publically. I'd have to post it in it's entirety since I've made quite a few changes at once.

Here's what I don't get.

Aside from the fact I was validating as I went and it validates fine, it says line 3619, position 3, so I remove the entire block of code that line 3619 falls under.

When I reload the plugin, I'm still seeing an issue with line 3619, position 3.

I'll recheck this in the morning with a fresh set of eyes, but this is part of what's confusing me.

Without your configuration there is no way to help you.

I can understand that. It looks like if I want to use this plugin I'll have to do the heavy lifting as usual.

I have used hundreds of plugins that have had hundreds of updates, rewrites and so on. This one has proven to be the most painful by far. There's been no consideration for admins regarding the difficulty of configuration conversion and, for me at least, there is not a single benefit to the rewrite. This has been a horrible experience that has done nothing but sucked my time into a black hole.

I was appreciative of the old version. Free, simple, easy to setup. This version is a nightmare of unnecessary brackets.

Just use an online editor if it's so hard to keep the brackets in a correct place. Also take a look at loot plus I'm 99% sure it's a few times worse, tbh quick smelt is not that hard at all imo it's just a few lists. I'm going to rewrite it again somewhen to make it simpler a little bit and better

Didn't you get this version for free ?
How in the world did you get a 3.5K+ line SmartChatBot config ?

Code blocks and sections can both inherit and precurse an error, so just because it says the error is @3619,3 doesn't mean the error is right there.

In my opinion, the heavy lifting was done when writing the plugin, what we admins do with the config is up to us.

This is of course just my personal opinion, but I don't think the config is that hard.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything..., most of all I'm curious of how you made a 3.6K line config. :o)

I would also be happy to try and help, but it's hard when you won't share the data in which the problem lies.

Ah smart Chat Bot its pretty simple lol thought it was about quick smelt since a lot.of guys for.some reason have an issue with it. Sorry lol for some reason thought so.

Because I've put a lot of work into it, have what I believe are some unique ideas in it, and I get tired of others mooching off my hard work.

It was free. Then the changes made it very costly to me. I would have stayed with the old version had I not been required to update dependencies.

A lot of hard work and a plugin configuration design that is bloated with unnecessary structure.
