Server not starting with OxideNot An Issue
Hey guys,
Strange issue here.
I've been delaying installing the newest oxide, but I finally did it today.
However, once installed, the server won't actually load.  It just sits saying "Starting Server...".
I run 5 servers all together, 4 use oxide.  3 of them, running on a different machine, all worked fine.
It just the one that won't load.  
If I update again, and run it vanilla, it will load fine.  But as soon as I apply oxide, it stalls out again.
If there are any reporting messures I can show you all, I'd be happy to provide that, but being that it doesn't even try to load the config, I don't imagine I will find any reporting that will help figure this out.

Check your server log files for errors, we can’t really help without knowing what is going on bin those. The one you’d specifically need to look for is the output_log.txt or the file as set by -logfile in your startup.

You do not have Oxide installed. Make sure you are not updating your server with Steam (check your startup script) each time your start the server.
I have that part of the batch file removed.  
It doesn't update every time the server starts.

I have always updated servers and oxide the exact same way, like I said, the other 3 servers running on another dedicated box are working just fine.
There is no indication of Oxide being installed on your server, which means it isn't installed. There is no starting or not starting, it simply wouldn't be installed if you do not see any indication of it.

I'd suggest doing a re-install and make sure ALL files are overwritten when prompted and that there are no failed transfers to the server.
Just to be clear, that is actually 3 different logfiles.  The first one is showing what happens when the server stalls at startup.
The 2nd one is the file that generated when I changed the location that it is outputing to.  So as to give you the freshest version.
The 3rd one shows what it looks like when the server is a fresh update, just vanilla, finishing to a successful boot.

You can see them defined by the "merged post" line.

Ok, so I have ran the update again.
I have then reinstalled oxide.  Confirmed 30 files were to overwritten.  They did that successfully.

I split the logs into separate code blocks so they are readble.

  1. First log contains an error from Rust/Unity, not Oxide. This could be from mixing Rust versions by using an old Oxide build or newer Rust version that it wasn't made for.
  2. Second log contains and error that is also likely from mixing Rust versions, same reasoning as above.
Make sure you are on the public branch of Rust, not staging, and that you are downloading the latest build from our site here. If all else fails, I'd suggest trying to backup your files and doing a fresh install.

It is likely that one of the files was corrupt then, perhaps oxide.config.json.
